hi .i am a foreign user . but i really like some chinese tools , PECMD for instance. i need to ask something ,is it possible to create pagefile.sys via PECMD dynamically when the PE boots ? i use firadisk to build a hdd image based PE with the help of winbuilder. but i am confused that how i can use PECMD to create pagefile.sys on the fly either i use firadisk or other option which is cab compressed which chinese build normally uses .i have seen the following thread http://bbs.wuyou.net/archiver/?tid-91524-page-10.htmlbut can not understand it . i hope someone will reply with a solution . format: PAGE <path of pagefile> <inital size in MB> [max size in MB]

Yes, you can use
c:\>pecmd.exe FILE C:\pagefile.sys
to delete the existing and unuseful pagefile C:\pagefile.sys, but it’s unnecessary, i think.
PECMD would not delete the pagefile automatically when PE shut down. The pagefile is locked and can not be deleted at runtime.

In addition. You can goto the zhaohj's ftp(http://bbs.wuyou.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=96720) and download 0PE's new project in directory /pesudo.
It has been more improved about installing xp/2003 onto SATA/Raid hard disk. A USB2.0 module plpbt.bin can significantly speed up the old machine to read .iso from USB disk.

为什么要删除pagefile.sys,再用PAGE创建一个pagefile.sys 这样的操作有意义吗???
还有为什么一定要在关机时删除pagefile.sys ,或许这并非不能办到,但,这样做有意义吗???

奇怪了,楼主能上GOOGLE,YAHOO把英文翻成中文,为什么不能把PECMD HELP翻译成英文,读完了再来发贴???

Microsoft told me that if we have the following registry value in registry , pagefile.sys will be deleted when shutdown ,

Value Name: ClearPageFileAtShutdown
Value Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1

or

if value already exists then turn it to 1 .

as far as 0PE is concerned , can you give me the link to somewhere else . it seems i do not have access to that FTP .
by the way , i have been using Plop for some time now , but i have seen one thing in it , it can not load NT 5 based ISO , either it is Pe or windows iso . it does load it file . but when we apply chainload , it just produces Blank screen . and stuck there.

for example ,
after loading Bios with Plop ,

map --mem /maanu.iso (xp pe) (0xff)
( it will load it fine )
then
map --hook
chainloader (0xff)
boot
nothing will happen after that .

but it does not happen with NT6 based pe or iso . have you seen this error /Bug ?

The bat file seems ok and the registry ClearPageFileAtShutdown is useful, thanks.

I have given the link of the post above where zhaohj's FTP adress with username and password can be seen. You have enough permissions to see them. That is the only way to get latest version of 0PE.
You can use a ftp tool, such as FlashFxp for downloading.

I have not found any problem in your menu.

If you load a pe from USB more than 3 minus before entering desktop, or map an iso file (about 600MB) to memory more than 5 minus, plpbt.bin would be useful.
Maybe you can make a test in 0PE:

select the menuitem
[9] Debug On/USB2.0 Module.
twice to load plpbt.bin, then select another menuitem to load 0PE or menuitem
[A] Setup /WIN$.ISO
to load any bootable iso file (named /WIN$.ISO) from ubs, you can feel the significant acceleration.

大概也有用PE进行数据恢复方面的需求，所以不想在硬盘上写东西，包括创建pagefile.sys。

thank you for clearing the issue . i use google translate and translate from english to chinese just make it easy for most of my chinese friends to have a idea of my meanings . thats it .

i am just a seeker of knowledge . and in chinese forums i found many things which are no where on the internet . like fbinst by bean , BOOTICE by Pauly ( Thanks to him for translating to english on my request ) , author of FBINST TOOL ( again thanks to him for adding English on my request ) . now DGen has promised me that he will make english version for Dos and Windows of DISK GENIUS .

i will keep learning stuff here and will share on Boot Land and other forums .

i will be like the Bridge between Chinese people to the world :) . anyone who needs any help in understanding any english software , just let me know , i ll try to my Level Best to translate it to chinese with His help . with screen shoots too .

you have done great work in making PECMD . is there any chance that you might translate its menu to English ? to help us understand how it works ?

specially i am impressed how you people use pe_outerpart things like drivers install in PE , or Direct X etc . or packing everything in .wim . then generate shortcuts dynamically at the boot time .

i am sorry to report , but the following did not work .

please note ,that i had PECMD.EXE in same directory as the bat file . the bat file appears and then exit right at the spot.

is there anything wrong ?

i also tried to put pecmd.exe in systemroot \system32 folder . but nothing happen .

2. search the key&string---"cmdline"="cmd.exe"(maybe use other software--the shell of desktop)

3. modify the string to---"PECMD.EXE MAIN %SystemRoot%\System32\PECMD.INI"
or "cmd.exe /k autorun.cmd"(use autorun.cmd to delete the file---PAGEFILE.SYS)
4. save the file---regsetup.hiv

***这位巴基斯坦朋友的意思是——使用winbuilder创建PE用PECMD的一些问题。但该软件默认运行的命令行是cmd.exe(或者其他shell软件)，所以自然不会跑到PECMD.EXE上，要改成"PECMD.EXE MAIN %SystemRoot%\System32\PECMD.INI"才行，本人的英语大多还给老师了，上面的中国式英语基本点明了要点，当然如果改成像"cmd.exe /k autorun.cmd"然后再用autorun.cmd也可以实现删除页面文件，但关机会比较成问题，请有英语水平较佳的帮忙修改一下*^_^*

actually i wanted to use PECMD.exe to automate the PAGEFILE issue in pe mode . otherwise we already have a tool made by Paraguilder for pe which sets pagefile.sys . he is author of runscanner too . name of file is setpagefile.exe .

the shell is "peloader"?change it.you can modify the pecmd.ini to delete the file--C:\PAGEFILE.SYS(FILE C:\PAGEFILE.SYS)，the shell will change to explorer.exe.
or "cmd.exe /k autorun.cmd" ***autorun.cmd is your batch file to auto runing.but it would be reboot when finished the batch.

it seems i have found the issue .

in script file put the following , ( we use scripts in winbuilder to add apps , drivers etc )

a user at boot-Land forums , JFX made a script to enable themes . he used the chinese guys methods and port to winbuilder . he uses the following lines ,

I dont think peloader better than pecmd.pecmd lifting a 24-hour-reboot limit with winlogon and the shell is explorer.

first command successful . means PAGEFILE.SYS which was already at
C:\ driver removed .

BUT not new pagefile,sys was created . i wonder what could go wrong .

PECMD can use shel xxxx to load peloader or anthoer shell software.but created pagefile.sys....

Format: PAGE <page file path "" The initial size of the "[Max]
Function: Set the page file (virtual memory).
Parameters:
■ specify the page file path, only with DOS 8.3 format, the path, such as "C: \ PageFile.sys".
■ The initial size and maximum units are MB; when the maximum value is omitted, the automatically set the initial size = max.
Example:
◆ PAGE C: \ PAGEFILE.SYS 128 256
Note:
※ If you set the page file, then the district will be unable to perform formatting and other operations.
※ When the available memory, "the initial size, this command will not set the page file, which can be defined as a set the initial size of pages of documents conditions.
※ This command has intelligent functions, namely, the definition of pages from your file name (including drive letter) is located in line with the district started to search conditions (hard drives and capacity)
District to set page file to avoid the slow U-disk and mobile hard disk. U disk or mobile hard disk to start may be defined in the profile page of the text

yes i have read it . and i am not using any usb hard disk . i am use C driver which have my windows installed . it is 10 GB NTFS .

should i give it the last try by making the project again , this time by default PECMD other then PELOADER. ?

windows used wincmd.exe ....

ok i am going to hospital to visit my grandmother . i ll come back and build a new project with pe , using PECMD as default other then PELOADER.EXE .

the following will be in PECMD.ini file . ( note , the first line is from JFX ) .

WAIT 2000
FILE C:\PAGEFILE.SYS

如果用来启动到桌面那不需要延时，如果仅仅用来删除和创建PAGEFILE.SYS然后就重新启动，那肯定要加延时，毕竟创建或者拷贝文件需要时间的，以前在研究在SHELL加载之前加载驱动这个问题的时候就已经发现拷贝文件需要延时一段时间。

from above , the shortcuts were not made successfully , may be the problem is with %USERPROFILE% ?  i copied it from TangoPE .

WALL.JPG , the wallpaper was also not found . what is necessery for wallpapers to load OK ?
