Those who are running the 32 bit architecture of Windows 8.1 and also Windows Server 2012 R2, can use this version of DaRT to boot Into their PC and help diagnose problematic Issues thereafter. You can also change any local user account password with Incredible ease, by using the "Locksmith" utility and resetting It to a password of your choice. This comes In a bootable ISO Image file, so you can burn It to CD/DVD disc or alternatively, create a bootable USB Flash Drive. In short, DaRT allows you to boot Into a corrupt or non-functional operating system and perform tasks on the OS afterwards.
If your operating system (for whatever reason It may be) fails to start, you can use the Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset known as "DaRT" to boot Into the OS and repair It thereafter. DaRT Is used as a "boot" recovery and diagnostics tool, that contains a heap of tools to help Identify and repair OS Issues.
As with most contributions of DaRT on this website, make sure you use the correct version suited to your operating system, that's also based on It's architecture being either 32 or 64 bit. As mentioned, you can burn this to CD/DVD disc or create a bootable USB Flash Drive. If you're not sure how to create a bootable USB Flash drive, I have written a tutorial here.

This is the 64 bit version suited to both Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2. DaRT is short for Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset and does just as the name suggests- diagnoses and recovers selected issues pertaining to your Windows 8.1 operating system and a lot more. Disk Wipe:

Standalone System Sweeper can be used to identify and remove this malicious code from a system.
Locksmith Utility:
Locksmith is a tool that can be used for password recovery; resetting a local account that may have a password that’s been forgotten or the user has since left. Locksmith is very handy in consumer repair scenarios, but not overly useful in the corporate environment due to its inability to perform password reset on domain accounts. If there’s an unmanaged device (not domain-joined) that needs a password reset, Locksmith will do the job with ease.
SFC Scan:
During the analysis of an intrusion, system files may be identified that have been modified maliciously to stop the system from booting or stopping other assessment or recovery tools from operating. SFC Scan allows for a quick system repair of corrupted or missing system files. This isn’t the greatest option in a scenario where forensic analysis and preservation of the original system image needs to occur, but for quick remediation this is a very handy tool.

By using DaRT 10, you can recover end-user computers that have become unusable, diagnose probable causes of issues, and quickly repair unbootable or locked-out computers by using the Locksmith utility. When it is necessary, you can also quickly restore important lost files and detect and remove malware, even when the computer is not online. This Is suited to the 64 bit architecture of any edition of the Windows 10 version.
DaRT 10 lets you create a DaRT recovery image in International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Windows Imaging (WIM) file formats and burn the image to a CD, DVD, or USB. You can then use the recovery image files and deploy them locally or to a remote partition or a recovery partition.
There are many tools available In DaRT 10. One Is the "Disk Wipe". You can use Disk Wipe to delete all data from a disk or volume, even the data that is left behind after you reformat a hard disk drive. Disk Wipe lets you select from either a single-pass overwrite or a four-pass overwrite, which meets current U.S. Department of Defense standards.
Another Is the "Crash Analyzer". Running Crash Analyzer is a good idea even if you plan to reimage the computer. The image could have a defective driver that is causing problems in your environment. By running Crash Analyzer, you can identify problem drivers and improve the image stability.
There's too many tools to mention. Try Windows 10 DaRT for yourself and explore It's tools. It will certainly fulfill any problematic issues you may be experiencing with your operating system, even in it's non-functional state.
